New incredable life with personal computer

Now that just about every car has a radio, television, and a GPS system you have to wonder how long it will be before there is a computer in every car that is on the road. This is of course a long time coming considering there are many high-end cars that already have some kind of monitor connected to a network for radio, navigation, and even television.

Even though combustion motors will never die we are seeing the more economic, and environmentally sound, vehicles taking over the market place. This means that eventually there will only be electric cars available for street use and combustion motors will be a less mainstreamed form of transportation. This might be a ways off but it is in the future indefinitely. Now that we are being scared into "going green" it is almost inevitable.

Now that we have the ability to tether a cell phone into a laptop and give Internet access without the use of a Wi-Fi or a modem it will only be a matter of time before a computer is like a radio in a car. This is crazy to think about considering we just saw the Internet be mainstreamed a little under ten years ago but since its inception it has already started to phase out CDs, DVDs, land telephone lines, cable companies, newspapers, magazines, and the list goes on and on.

The other question that comes to mind when thinking about this extreme technological advancement is who will get the contract - Apple or Microsoft? Google might even be making computers by this time and perhaps we will see a new line of Google computers that will help even out the computer market and stop Microsoft at their attempts in monopolizing the field of Web interactions.

Who knows what will happen in the end but it is interesting to think about and see where technology is taking us. Being on the Internet in the middle of nowhere while driving in a car is pretty amazing and the only thing left to conquer is the data transfer. However, with the release of the terabyte and the upcoming quadra-byte, it does not seem to far-fetched by any stretch of the imagination that data transfer will be as easy and as cheap as it is through a modem.

The future appears to be a science fiction movie and you have to be thankful to live in the time that we do. With all these questions up in the air it is certainly something to think about. Do you embrace what the future holds or are you frightened of mankind constructing our own demise with what tomorrow may bring?
